CADPIPE Building Services 2002 (6.6) Upgrade Release Notes

The following items are included in this upgrade:

  1. AutoCAD 2002 & Architectural Desktop 3.3 compatible.
  2. New directory structure allows greater flexibility.
  3. Architectural Desktop objects are now detected when duct and pipe collides with them.
  4. Metric pipe sizes can now use standard metric nominal sizes instead of conversion of imperial nominal sizes.
  5. New interface to NavisWorks. Enables CADPIPE intelligence to be carried into NavisWorks when viewing a CADPIPE model.
  6. Pipe and duct reports now save with a .txt extension instead of an .rpt Makes finding and importing reports much easier.
  7. The ability to "Browse" for a location to backup and restore specs, databases, etc.
  8. Improved functionality for selecting which routing line to place a fitting on when more than one routing line is in the selection set.
  9. The ability to edit the system and category on an existing routing line (This will not update any existing fittings on the routing line).
  10. The Stretch command now works with solid pipe.
  11. When using a "Flanged" system, the flanges will no longer report separately, but will be included in the length of the pipe.
  12. Both flanges in a "Flanged" system will now be erased when the pipe is erased.
  13. You can now auto-route with a fire damper to an Architectural Desktop wall.
  14. Walls, beams, and columns are now placed as AutoCAD solids. This will enable users to cut holes in these objects (sleeves, doors, windows, etc.) and use other solid editing tools.
  15. New "Custom Inline" fitting. You can now place a generic, user defined inline fitting that will label and report as what you specify.
  16. Taps will be automatically sized to the diffuser neck when you choose the "Auto-Route to Diffuser" or "Align With Diffuser" option.
  17. 3D solid representation of flex duct. Both "Solid" and "Single Line" are now CADPIPE objects and can be automatically placed on separate layers.

The following issues from CADPIPE Building Services 2000 have been resolved:

  1. Improved functionality with solid flat oval duct.
  2. Corrected issues with sloped systems and "Fitting Conversion". No longer changes elbow and branch orientation when converted from mesh to solid, etc
  3. Solid adapters are now being placed on the correct spec layer.
  4. The size text now remains when converting pipe (mesh-solid-single line).
  5. The node on a flanged reducing tee is now placed at the correct location.
  6. Corrected issue with 3"X1 ½" Sanitary Tee not modeling correctly.
  7. Resolved issue of screen flashing when a piece of pipe is placed while "Collision Check" is turned on.
  8. Resolved issue with Combo Wye & 1/8th Bend drawing pipe in the wrong direction.
  9. Using the "CADPIPE Copy" to copy fittings using an osnap as a basepoint and second point now functions correctly.
  10. Corrected issue with Auto-routing using a "Sanitary Tee" as the turning fitting.
  11. Using "gaskets" with a "Flanged" system will now report the correct lengths.
  12. "Round Crosses" now function correctly when you join to the left branch.
  13. Corrected issue with using an osnap to establish the end point of a "Cut To Length" of duct.
  14. Corrected issue with cheek and wrapper dimensions being flipped when "Auto-routing" vertical to horizontal using the "Join" button in the "Auto-route" dialog box.
  15. Resolved issue with returning to horizontal from a rolled left-turn 90 deg. elbow.
  16. Spec now retains setting when you "Join To" a Spin Collar.
  17. "Alternate Angle" for taps now works correctly.
  18. Resolved issue with directory structure depth of drawings sometimes resulting in an "Unhandled Exception."
  19. Solid oval duct now places correctly with running osnaps turned on.
  20. Radius rectangular elbows now model correctly with running osnaps turned on.
  21. Auto-routing from a tap to a diffuser with running osnaps turned on now works correctly.
  22. Corrected issue with right turning "Conical Laterals". The branch was not being connected to the main correctly.
